Spring break

My grandma and grandpa came over from southern alberta to celebrate easter. We made fudge, played cards, went to the movies and shopping, and even made wood stairs going down the steep hill leading to our backyard fort. to top it off, we went to Maconall's Mill, which is an old mill and an awesome hiking trail. We additionally went to a penny candy store near the mill called Baldingers. Anyway, the mill was closed so we went hiking all over the trail and Dallin and I went hiking all over the huge boulders and rocks right by the river. We got to a little boulder island thing, but you would have to jump about 3-4 feet. And us Otteson's tend to have small legs. Dallin, who is somewhat more of a daredevil than I had made the jump and was waiting for me to join him. Anyone who knows me knows that I am not exactly coordinated, so Dallin was mocking me. I wanted to prove him wrong, so I told him that I was highly coordinated and reached my leg out, trying to touch the boulder. I managed to reach my leg far enough and was supporting my weight on it, about to get to the boulder when my foot slipped out from under me. I fell in the frigid river water, while Dallin was laughing hysterically. I screamed at the top of my lungs, and my granpa came to the rescue, but unfortunately doubled over in laughter. I pulled myself up out of the water, which is not very easy to do when all your clothes gain 10 pounds from being sopping wet. I left with the little dignity I had left. but being clumsy, I fell into a pile of leaves and was wet, hungry, cold, my feelings were hurt, and now I was covered in leaves. My mom did give me some sympathy by telling me never to use the words "me", and "highly coordinated" in a sentence. some sympathy. but the rest of spring break I had a good time. Love you Grammy and Gramps! Here is a picture of me trying to thaw out! happy holidays!
